Race report

Good races, good friends, good beer
Virginia Int'l Raceway
April 12/13, 2003

Onboard Racing had another successful weekend. We kept it on two wheels and took home a second place finish.

The weather was nice, mid 70's with a slight breeze. VIR was packed, one of the most crowded CCS race weekends I've seen. We had a bunch of out-of-towners drive in and my primary sponsor, C2 Communications Inc., fly in for the races. We made the most of it and brought a pony keg to the races on Saturday. My races were #2 & #3, so afterwards I got to hang with the crowd and down a few cups fresh from the tap while watching the rest of the day's races.

My races went O.K. In Middleweight Sportsman, Joe had 1st place sealed up, and I had a tough fight against an FZR400 for 2nd place, but I managed to hold and finish 2nd. In GT Lights, I was in 7th most of the race, until the last lap when 2 SVs passed me, pushing down to 9th. Bastards.

On Sunday, the weather was equally nice, although a few degrees warmer. I raced LWSS & LWSB. Both were pretty un-eventful, can't remember much excitement from them, but I placed 7th & 8th respectively.

Overall, the weekend was great. We had a little of everything; good races, good friends and good beer.
